This week we have Destiny Elliott, CEO of DE PR & Marketing Firm
Hello Destiny! We’re so excited to have you featured in “The Conversation” this week! Let’s begin with you telling us what you do.
I am the CEO of Destiny Elliott PR & Marketing Firm, where we nurture the goals of entrepreneurs from seed-like ideas to fruitful businesses. Our Firm is a one-stop-shop for everything public relations and marketing for personal brands. There are five Signature Services that fit the need of each client within Our Community. They are: Media Relations, Digital Marketing, Content Creation, Brand Management and Campaign Development. Some services that fall under these realms are bookings, social media posting, logos, business cards, websites, email blasts, photo shoots and pitch practices. Such a wide range of services allow us to serve individuals in any industry.
That sounds great! What about your personal journey sparked your interest in PR and made you want to begin your firm so young?
I was doing public relations and marketing since Myspace days but could not put my finger on the practice yet. I fell in love with taking photos with heels on in my backyard, spending hours editing them with effects then uploading them at times I suspected most of my friends were online to see them. Before I knew it, I got the hang of promoting my gifts and what I did at school and in the community that people started referring to me as "Destiny, The Model". It was no second guessing that I would major in journalism and concentrate in public relations when it was time for me to level up in the next steps of my life. I been a boss! Starting in the fashion and media industry at an early age paid off as I moved to a “who’s who” city such as Atlanta. Exchanging business cards, attending press conferences, and shaking the right hands of people became second nature to me by my sophomore year in college. I knew that I had to capitalize off of my reputation and work when entrepreneurs began asking me to assist them with the visibility of their businesses. It was at that moment that I committed to combining my passion for journalistic storytelling and multimedia promotions into a company that I call my own– Destiny Elliott PR & Marketing Firm, LLC. May 1, 2019 is one of the best days of my life because I created a business that serves the universe in a multitude of ways. I view my Firm like a baby, an entity whose existence is founded on love and a purpose to be what entrepreneur in the world needs.
Within the PR community do you have any other companies you’d like to collaborate with or inspires you?
My digital community is lit! I scroll down my social media timelines inspired and determined to advance in all aspects of life. There are two businesses, in particular, that I would like to collaborate with. The first is Black Wall St. (@blackwall.st on Instagram), a showcase of Black businesses and information about Black people’s contributions to the economy. My collaboration with them will consist of creating a physical space for Black people to exchange services and accumulate wealth amongst one another. The second is XONecole (@xonecole on Instagram), an online community curated for women by women. I will collaborate with them to spread awareness about the power of women and brainstorm global initiatives that will maintain our control of the future.
Lastly, before we wrap do you have any advice to give to other entrepreneurs struggling with marketing or networking.
One of the first things that I would advise an entrepreneur struggling with networking and marketing is to figure out their passion. Ask yourself: What makes me happy? What serves the world? Those answers will unveil your purpose, which will open the door to how you network in person and market yourself on social media. For example, I am passionate about branding and my purpose is to build and boost mine and other’s. I portray these attributes by sharing my life as a student entrepreneur and providing services that helped me become a household name. Finally, know that you have the power to speak your target audience and to control what you need out of conversations. You must be strategic with everything you do, each person you meet and every place that you go so that you sleep at night knowing that you are walking into your destiny.
